Flood Watch Number: 3

FLOODING IS POSSIBLE IN THE BARKLY, CENTRAL DESERT, GEORGINA AND EYRE CREEK

During Sunday or Monday a tropical low (ex-Tropical Cyclone Kirrily) is now forecast to track southwards in Queensland, decreasing the chance of heavy rainfall in the Northern Territory. However, if the track of the tropical low moves westwards into the Northern Territory, then the heavy rainfall is possible within the Flood Watch area in coming days.

Significant river and stream rises are possible with heavy rainfall across the Flood Watch area during the next week.

Many roads, and possibly primary and secondary highways may be affected. Some communities and homesteads may become isolated. Check road conditions before travelling.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Barkly
Central Desert
Georgina River and Eyre Creek
