RENEWED FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTH WEST QUEENSLAND FROM LATE THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK

A deepening trough will remain slow moving over parts of western and interior Queensland, drawing tropical moisture southward and enhancing rainfall in its vicinity. The trough is expected to drift slowly eastwards from the middle of next week.

Catchments within the Flood Watch area are relatively dry.

Widespread rainfall is forecast within the Flood Watch area over the weekend and into next week.

Renewed river level rises and minor riverine flooding are possible within the Flood Watch area from Sunday, with isolated moderate flooding possible, which may cause disruption to transport and isolation of communities.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Paroo River (QLD)
Bulloo River (QLD)
Barcoo River
Thomson River
Cooper Creek
Diamantina River
Georgina River and Eyre Creek(Flood warning current)
