Flood Watch Number: 11
RENEWED FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTH WEST QUEENSLAND
A trough will linger over central Australia for a few days,
drawing moisture into southwest Queensland, and generating showers
and thunderstorms.
Catchments within the Flood Watch area are wetting up in areas of
rainfall over the last few days.
Showers tending to rain, and the chance of thunderstorms with
locally heavy falls, are forecast across the Flood Watch area over
the next few days. The heaviest rainfall is likely near the borders
with SA and NSW.
Renewed river level rises and minor riverine flooding are possible
within the Flood Watch area, which may cause disruption to
transport and isolation of communities.
Catchments likely to be affected include:
Warrego River (QLD)
Bulloo River (QLD)
Cooper Creek
Diamantina River
Flood Warnings are current for: Diamantina, Georgina, Thomson,
Paroo and Barcoo rivers, and Eyre Creek.
