Heavy rainfall still occurring from cells around the Scenic Rim and Cherbourg areas

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:45 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Goomeri and the area south of Cunninghams Gap. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast to southeast. They are forecast to affect Mount Barney by 8:15 pm and Maroon Dam by 8:45 pm.

41.0 mm recorded at Buaraba in 30 minutes to 5:00 pm.
41.5 mm recorded at Cherbourg in 30 minutes to 6:28 pm.
72.0 mm recorded at Moogerah Dam in one hour to 6:18 pm.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
