East and Central Plateau Forecast Districts.

Damaging wind gusts expected to continue this morning.
Weather Situation: A vigorous westerly airflow over the southern
half of the state to continue this morning, ahead of an approaching
weak cold front that will slide to the south of the state later in
the day.
Strong westerly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND
GUSTS of around 100 km/h are likely over parts of the Central
Plateau, Western, Upper Derwent Valley and South East districts
this morning.
Elevated areas and exposed coastal parts in the far south are
likely to see DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak
gusts of around 120 km/h.
Winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds by
mid-afternoon.
Locations which may be affected include Strathgordon, New Norfolk,
Tarraleah, Geeveston, Dover and Huonville.
Highest wind gusts recorded to 11am Monday:
133km/h at Kunanyi/Mount Wellington at 3.56am
119 km/h at Hartz Mountain at 8:18am
119 km/h at Scotts Peak Dam at 6:16am
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
* Manage pets and livestock.
* Secure outdoor items including furniture and play
equipment.
* Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to
TasNetworks on 132 004.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when
driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further
advice.
