Weather Situation

Severe fire dangers are forecast to affect the Maranoa and Warrego district on Monday, with the potential for localised Extreme conditions in forested parts of the district.

Fresh and gusty north to northwesterly winds are expected to bring hot and dry conditions across the warning area on Monday, ahead of a surface trough that will sweep eastwards across the area through the middle part of the day into the afternoon. Winds will shift west to southwesterly following the passage of the trough, with the airmass remaining hot and very dry. A few dry thunderstorms with the potential for cloud to ground lighting strikes may affect the north of the district during the day.
