Weather Situation:
Gusty thunderstorms are continuing over inland Qld, extending from the Gulf Country to the southern interior.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours.

Locations which may be affected include Doomadgee, Burketown, Croydon, Georgetown, Hughenden, Barcaldine, Carnarvon National Park, St George, Mungindi and areas to the west of Roma.

Significant wind gusts recorded today were:
Walgett (northern NSW) - 93 km/h at 7.50pm
Longreach - 114 km/h at 7.23pm
Winton - 107 km/hr at 4.56pm
Cloncurry - 62 km/h at 3.26pm
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
