Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones over the next several hours in the Wide Bay and Burnett and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Capricornia, Maranoa and Warrego, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts. Locations which may be affected include Gympie, Kingaroy, Maryborough, Biloela, Springsure and Carnarvon National Park.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Central West, Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Locations which may be affected include Barcaldine, Blackall, Evesham Station, Adavale, Aramac and Muttaburra.

51mm in the 30 minutes to 3.40pm has been recorded at Mid Kroombit east of Bileola.

3cm hail was reported at Nanango earlier this afternoon.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
