Severe thunderstorms extend from the northwest down through the eastern and southeastern interior.

Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and large hailstones are possible over the next several hours in parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts. Locations which may be affected include Warwick, Stanthorpe, Taroom, Theodore, Moura, Allora, Clifton, Pittsworth and Eidsvold.

Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding are possible over the next several hours in parts of the Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West, Central Highlands and Coalfields and Central West districts.

Locations which may be affected include Cloncurry, Hughenden, Richmond, Julia Creek, Pentland, Torrens Creek, Cloney's Creek, Natal Downs, Elgin Downs, Aberfoyle and Stamford.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
