Heavy Rainfall for the north tropical coast.

Weather Situation:
Moist unstable easterly flow will bring heavy rain areas to the north tropical coast on Sunday and continue into early Monday.

Widespread moderate to heavy fall are expected to develop about the north tropical coast from early on Sunday morning.

Widespread 6-hourly rainfall totals of 100-200 mm are likely on Sunday with isolated heavier falls of 300mm possible. These heavy falls are likely to lead to localised flash flooding.

Heavy rainfall may continue into early Monday morning. On Monday morning 6-hourly rainfall totals of 50-100 mm are possible with isolated falls of 200 mm. Rainfall rates are expected to ease through the day on Monday.

Locations which may be affected include Cairns, Port Douglas, Mareeba, Mossman, Yarrabah and Wujal Wujal.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
