North to northwesterly winds, averaging 50 to 65 km/h with gusts of 90-100 km/h, are forecast about parts of Kangaroo Island and the southern Mount Lofty Ranges from soon after midnight through to mid-morning Wednesday, with localised damage possible.

Elevated areas and nearby leeward slopes are most likely to be affected. Locations include Victor Harbor, Parawa, Parndana and Strathalbyn.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
