Very windy in the north with and behind a gusty change

Damaging winds, averaging 50-70 km/h with peak gusts of around 90 km/h are forecast in

the warning area with and for a couple of hours following a gusty southwesterly change this afternoon and evening.

Note a separate severe thunderstorm warning is also current as of 5pm for parts of the warning area.

Locations which may be affected include Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Marla, Coober Pedy, Roxby Downs, Leigh Creek, Marree, Hawker, Oodnadatta and Woomera.

Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Mid North district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
