The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:10 pm, severe
thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar. They are forecast
to affect Mount Tamborine and Tamborine by 7:40 pm and Logan
Village by 8:10 pm.
Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely.
Wongawallan (North of Mount Tamborine) recorded 45mm in 30 minutes
to 7:15pm.
Worongary Creek (near Mudgeeraba) recorded 46mm in 30 minutes and
67mm in 1 hour to 6pm.
Clearview (near Nerang) recorded 55mm in 30 minutes to 6:30pm, and
67mm in 1 hour to 6:55pm.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people
should:
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded,
forget it.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
