Additional river rises are expected over the weekend along the Huon River. Minor flooding may develop from late Saturday.

A south-westerly to westerly stream will continue over the next couple of days. Persistent showers will increase during Saturday before easing on Sunday.

In the 24 hours to 3pm Friday, rainfall totals of 10-35 mm have been observed across the Huon catchment. River rises are occurring and higher than usual tides are also being experienced at Huonville.

Rainfall totals of 20-40 mm are forecast for Saturday and 15-25 mm for Sunday. Higher totals are possible for elevated areas.

Additional river rises are expected with forecast rainfall. Minor flooding is possible along the Huon River from late Saturday. Catchment specific warnings will be issued if and when required.

Strong and dangerous flows will be a hazard over the next couple of days.
