Initial Flood Watch for North West, North and North East catchments

Flood Watch Number: 1

Minor flooding may develop in North West, North and North East catchments from Wednesday evening.

A cold front will cross the north of the State in the next 24 hours, bringing widespread rainfall.

Catchments are saturated from recent rainfall and are likely to be highly responsive to further rain.

Widespread totals of 20-40 mm are forecast for Wednesday, with isolated totals of 50-60 mm possible in some areas. A further 20 mm is forecast for Thursday.

River rises are expected and minor flooding may develop in some catchments as a result of the forecast rainfall.

Catchment specific warnings will be issued and updated when required.

North Esk River

South Esk River

Meander River

Macquarie River

Ringarooma River

North Coastal Rivers

Tamar (Launceston)

Mersey River

Forth River

Northwest and Central Coastal Rivers

Arthur River
