This watch and act replaces the advice message issued at 1pm Today

This Watch & Act message is being issued for
Tabberabbera.
There is a bushfire East of Tabberabbera that is not yet under
control.
The bushfire is travelling from Ryans Peak vacinity in a
north-westerly direction towards Morris Peak.
The Fire is currently 10 kilometres East of Tabberabbera
Spot fires and embers are starting fires ahead of the main fire at
Ryans Peak
This watch and act replaces the advice message issued at 1pm Today
14/1/2020.
It is important that you stay aware of your surroundings, watch
for travelling embers, and ensure you review your bushfire survival
plan. Stay informed, alert and monitor conditions outside.
What you should do:
Monitor changes to the situation. Increased wind speed, change in
wind direction, smoke or poor visibility can indicate the situation
is changing.
If you are away from home, do not return.
Enact your fire survival plan.
If the situation changes or you feel unsafe you should
leave:
Take your pets, medications, mobile phone and charger.
Travel to the home of family or friends that are away from the
warning area or to Sale or Bairnsdale.
Emergency Services may not be able to help you if you decide to
stay.
Impacts in your area:
The following roads are closed: Dargo High Plains Rd north of
Dargo through to Great Alpine Road.
Bushfires can start spot fires and embers large distances ahead of
the main fire.
Check the VicTraffic website (traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au/) or
call 13 11 70 for road closures.
