Flood Watch Number: 1

Areas of isolated minor flooding may develop across the Upper Yarra, Bunyip and Latrobe River catchments from Friday.

A cold front and south westerly flow is crossing Victoria bringing rain and snow.

Catchments in the flood watch area are wet following recent rainfall.

Widespread rainfall totals of 10-20mm are forecast for the remainder of Friday with higher totals of 15-30mm in elevated areas. The snowline will be down to 600m.

For Saturday a further 10-20mm is expected with 20-40mm possible in elevated areas. The snowline will be around 900m.

With forecast rainfall, river rises are expected during Friday and minor flooding may develop across the flood watch area from late Friday.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Latrobe River
Bunyip River and Dandenong Creek
Yarra River to Coldstream

The Bureau of Meteorology is continuing to monitor the situation and will issue catchment specific warnings as required.
