WEATHER SITUATION:
A cold front over waters south of the Bight will approach Victoria overnight before entering southwestern Victoria Saturday morning. The cold front will cross the remainder of the State during Saturday afternoon and evening.

DAMAGING NORTHERLY WINDS, averaging 55 to 75 km/h with peak gusts to 100 km/h are possible early Saturday morning over elevated areas (above 1200 metres) in the East Gippsland, North East, and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.

Locations which may be affected include Mt Baw Baw, Falls Creek and Mt Hotham.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;
