WEATHER SITUATION:
A cold front will enter southwestern Victoria Saturday morning and will cross the remainder of the State during Saturday afternoon and evening.

DAMAGING NORTHERLY WINDS, averaging 55 to 75 km/h with peak gusts to 100 km/h are expected to develop early Saturday morning over elevated areas (above 1200 metres) in the East Gippsland, North East, and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts.

West to southwesterly wind gusts around 90 km/h are expected about coastal areas late this afternoon and evening.

Locations which may be affected include Wonthaggi, Rosebud, Tidal River, Mt Baw Baw, Falls Creek and Mt Hotham.

Highest wind gust up to 5am Saturday: 89km/h at Mt Hotham recorded at 2.32am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;
