Strong and squally winds over parts of Gippsland.

Weather Situation: A deep low pressure system east of Tasmania will maintain squally southwesterly winds about the Gippsland coast and elevated areas in the far east.

DAMAGING WEST to SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS, averaging 50 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 100 km/h remain possible about exposed parts of the Gippsland coast and the ranges in the far east today, mainly with passing showers. Wind are expected to gradually ease this evening.

Locations which may be affected include Tidal River, Mallacoota, Cann River and Chandlers Creek.

Severe weather is no longer occurring in the West and South Gippsland district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;
