Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) advises there is a vegetation fire Mutchilba (Southwest of Mareeba).

Currently as at 3:40 PM Tuesday, 6 October, a vegetation fire is burning near Pin Road, Chisari Road, Springmount Road, Mutchilba. The fire is burning in a northwesterly direction towards Mareeba Dimbulah Road and Springmount Mount Road, Mutchilba.
Multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews are on scene attempting to contain the fire.
People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.
