GIANT HAIL POSSIBLE WITH A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM NEAR GLENELG.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:45 pm, a VERY DANGEROUS
THUNDERSTORM likely to produce large, possibly giant hailstones was
detected near the Gulf waters off Brighton. This thunderstorm is
moving towards the southeast. It is forecast to affect Glenelg,
Strathalbyn and Meadows by 8:15 pm.
Another severe thunderstorm likely to produce damaging winds was
detected near Salisbury and Parafield. This thunderstorm is moving
towards the east. It is forecast to affect Tea Tree Gully, Birdwood
and Gumeracha by 8:15 pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
