For people in parts of Northern Rivers Forecast District.

Issued at 8:29 pm Monday, 2 November 2026.

Severe thunderstorms are continuing about the far northeast of the state.

Weather Situation: A moist and unstable airmass about northeastern NSW is resulting in the continuation of severe thunderstorms during the evening. Severe thunderstorms should move north into Queensland over the next hour or two.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Tweed Heads, Murwillumbah, Kyogle, Numinbah, Tyalgum and Wiangaree.

Large to giant hail was reported from Grafton and Fine Flower earlier this afternoon.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
