ISOLATED MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE IN THE FLOOD WATCH AREA FROM
THURSDAY ONWARDS
A trough is expected to develop off the south coast during
Wednesday and deepen into a coastal low during Thursday, which is
likely to bring heavy rainfall and flooding across the southern
parts of the central coast, Illawarra, northern parts of the south
coast and the adjacent ranges. Abnormally high tides will also
impact the low lying areas along the NSW coast.
Catchments are relatively wet after recent rainfall.
Widespread rainfall with daily totals of 100-150 mm and isolated
250 mm are possible from Thursday into Friday.
The weather system may cause flooding for the catchments listed
from Thursday. Flood Classes (minor, moderate, major) are only
defined for catchments where the Bureau provides a flood warning
service.

Northern Sydney
Southern Sydney

minor flooding
Illawarra Coast
Shoalhaven River
minor flooding
St Georges Basin
minor flooding (Minor flood warning current)
Clyde River
Moruya and Deua Rivers

This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers
and streams must monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings
and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding
develop.
Flood Warnings will be issued if Minor Flood Level is expected to
be exceeded at key sites along the main rivers for which the Bureau
of Meteorology provides a flood warning service.
Severe Weather Warnings will be issued or updated if very heavy
rain is forecast or observed.
