MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE IN THE FLOOD WATCH AREA DURING SUNDAY INTO MONDAY

Heavy rainfall has generally eased during Sunday morning, however showers will persist across parts of the Mid North Coast and Hunter for the remainder of Sunday into Monday. This rain may cause minor flooding in the Orara, and parts of Mid North and Central Coast catchments from Sunday into Monday. Multiple flood warnings from minor to major are current across central and northern parts of the coast and north west of New South Wales.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are relatively wet or saturated due to recent rainfall.

Flood Classes (minor, moderate and major) are only defined for catchments where the Bureau provides a flood warning service.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Orara RiverMinor flooding

Bellinger and Kalang RiversMinor flooding

Hastings RiverMinor flooding

Karuah River

Newcastle Area

Flood warnings are current for the following catchment(s) : Macleay, Manning, Myall, Hunter, Paterson and Williams, Hawkesbury and Nepean, Gwydir, Severn and Peel and Namoi
