MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE ALONG THE UPPER MURRAY, MITTA MITTA AND SNOWY RIVERS, AND MURRAY RIVER TO TOCUMWAL FROM WEDNESDAY

A significant cold front will cross New South Wales and Victoria from today through to early Thursday, with a low pressure system forming over southeastern Australia within the front on Wednesday before heading offshore of southeastern New South Wales by Thursday morning. This system is predicted to bring widespread rainfall ahead of more settled conditions developing at the end of the week.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are moderately dry.

Showers tending to periods of rain, and the chance of thunderstorms, are forecast for Tuesday across the south and west of NSW. During Wednesday moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast over the Flood Watch area with rainfall easing during Thursday.

The weather system is likely to cause flooding in the catchments listed from Wednesday.

Catchments likely to be affected include:
Murray River to Tocumwal
minor flooding (at Corowa)

Snowy River
minor to moderate flooding

Upper Murray and Mitta Mitta Rivers
minor to moderate flooding
