Heavy rainfall occurring in showers this afternoon and evening.

Weather Situation: A slow moving trough about the southern Sydney Metro area is bringing persistent heavy showers to the area. This trough is expected to slowly move north and may stall around Sydney this evening.

HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is occurring in southern parts of the Sydney Metropolitan area and is expected to move towards central and western parts through the evening. Three to six-hourly rainfall totals between 60 and 90 mm are possible.

Heavy rainfall is expected to ease below warning thresholds early tomorrow morning.

Locations which may be affected include Sydney, Campbelltown, Penrith, Parramatta and Springwood.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
