Flood Watch Number: 2
MINOR FLOODING MAY DEVELOP ACROSS PARTS OF THE FLOOD WATCH AREA
FROM LATE WEDNESDAY, WITH ISOLATED MODERATE TO MAJOR FLOODING
POSSIBLE ACROSS COASTAL CATCHMENTS
A trough will move east across Queensland during Tuesday and
Wednesday. The trough is forecast to bring moderate to heavy
rainfall to the Flood Watch area from late Tuesday. Minor flooding
is possible across the Flood Watch area from late Wednesday.
Rainfall is also forecast to affect catchments outside the Flood
Watch area and may cause renewed river level rises across
catchments where flood warnings are already current, including
Warrego, Paroo, Bulloo, Barcoo, Thomson and Cooper. Existing
flooding may also be further prolonged.
Inland catchments within the Flood Watch area are relatively wet
from recent rainfall, whilst coastal catchments are very wet and
likely to respond quickly to further rainfall.
Localised river level rises and areas of flash flooding are likely
within the areas of heaviest rainfall.
A Flood Watch is also current for New South Wales including the
Border Rivers.

Burrum and Cherwell Rivers
Sunshine Coast Rivers and Creeks
