Gusty thunderstorms over inland South East Queensland

Weather Situation: A trough is producing thunderstorms with the potential to cause further damaging wind gusts as they move eastwards into the Lockyer Valley and the southern Burnett region.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Gatton, Crows Nest and Laidley.

96 km//h wind gust observed at Oakey at 4:49 pm.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
