Localised heavy falls continuing about the Central Highlands and Darling Downs

Weather situation: remnant severe thunderstorms are continuing from last night in a moist airmass, with heavy falls occurring in localised areas.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Moranbah, Nebo, Chinchilla and Miles.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Capricornia district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

83mm WAS RECORDED AT ARCADIA VALLEY IN THE 1 HOUR TO 10:08pm Friday.

60mm was recorded at Sheep Station Creek (Gemfields) in the 1 hour to 3:30am

91mm was recorded at Capella in the 3 hours to 3:13am

65mm was recorded at Beckers in the 1 hour to 1:34am

63mm was recorded at La Palma in the 1 hour to 11:25pm Friday.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
