FLOODING POSSIBLE FOR PARTS OF THE NORTH WEST PASTORAL, NORTH EAST PASTORAL AND FLINDERS DISTRICTS EARLY THIS WEEK
An upper system is expected to bring areas of rainfall to the north of South Australia early to mid this week.
Catchments remain dry ahead of the expected rainfall.
This widespread, unseasonal rainfall is likely to begin from Monday in north western South Australia. From Tuesday this is likely to intensify and start to move more eastwards.
Heavy rainfall across the Flood Watch area may cause areas of ponding and overland flow, along with rises in local creeks and overbank flooding. Roads, travel and transport may be impacted, and communities may be cut off.
Catchments likely to be affected include:
Flinders Ranges Rivers and Creeks
Simpson Desert
Lake Eyre
Warburton River
Finke River and Stephenson Creek
Eastern Great Victoria Desert
Warburton District Rivers
