Severe thunderstorms continue in the north of the State

Weather Situation: An unstable airmass remains over the north with a strong jet stream leading to the development of severe thunderstorms overnight.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include the Simpson Desert Conservation Park and Mungeranie on the Birdsville Track.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
