Severe thunderstorms have developed this morning in central parts of the state.

Weather Situation: Strong northerly winds ahead of a cold front have triggered gusty thunderstorms in central parts this morning.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Whyalla, Renmark, Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Clare and Murray Bridge.

95 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mount Crawford at 2:47am.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
