Damaging wind gusts to develop near the far southeast coast from tonight.

Weather Situation: West to southwesterly winds will strengthen as a low pressure system deepens over the western Bass Strait today. The low will then move away to the east early Sunday.

Strong west to southwesterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 90 km/h are possible about the far southeast coast during Saturday night. Locations closest to the coast are most likely to be affected.

Winds are expected to ease from the west during Sunday morning.

Locations which may be affected include Millicent.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
