Heavy rainfall in the southeast.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:55 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Beaudesert, Jimna, Redbank Plains and the area north of Woodford. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. They are forecast to affect Beenleigh, Maleny and Borumba Dam by 8:25 pm and Brisbane CBD, Maroochydore, Logan Central and Caloundra by 8:55 pm.

Spicers Peak recorded 77mm in the 1 hour to 6:34pm

Eskdale recorded 46mm in the 30 minutes to 6:07pm

Toohills Crossing recorded 59mm in the 30 minutes to 7:09pm

Tarome recorded 54mm in the 30 minutes to 7:05pm

Mt Sugarloaf recorded 69mm in the 2 hours to 7:39pm

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
