The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 1:45 am, a VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORM likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding was detected. The thunderstorm is moving towards the east. The severe thunderstorm is forecast to affect Mulgowie by 2:15 am and Harrisville, Peak Crossing and Grandchester by 2:45 am.

Another severe thunderstorm likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding was detected near Boonah and Beaudesert. This thunderstorm is moving towards the east. It is forecast to affect Canungra, Tamborine and Jimboomba by 2:15 am and Nerang, Mount Tamborine and Logan Village by 2:45 am.

Upper Tenthill Alert recorded 47 mm in 30 minutes to 1:23 am.

Mt Berryman Road Alert 65mm in 30 minutes to 1:40 am.

Emergency services advise people to:
* If you have children make sure they are with you or an adult you trust.
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
