Bushfire Watch and Act - Nugent - Leave now (if you are not prepared)

Tasmania Fire Service has issued a Bushfire Watch and Act for Nugent - Leave now (if you are not prepared).

The fire is travelling towards Nugent and expected to impact Bezzants Road, Crawlers Gully Road, Nugent Road and surrounding areas as soon as now.

The fire is expected to be difficult to control.

Embers, smoke, and ash may fall on Bezzants Road, Crawlers Gully Road, Nugent Road and surrounding areas and threaten you and your home before the main fire.

Smoke and ash may make it difficult to see and breathe.

Tasmania Fire Service and Sustainable Timber Tasmania are attending. Conditions are expected to be changeable.

Take action now to protect yourself, your family, and your home.

If you have made a bushfire plan, check it now.

Decide early if you are going to leave, and make sure you have a clear path to a safer place.

If you are not prepared for a bushfire, leave for a safer place. If you stay, your home may not be defendable.

The best option is to stay with family or friends. Only travel if it is safe for you to do so.
