MINOR FLOODING LIKELY FROM SATURDAY NIGHT, WITH ISOLATED MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE

A low developing over southeastern South Australia is forecast to move south and deepen off the west coast of Tasmania on Saturday, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall to most of Tasmania over the weekend. The highest rainfall totals are likely in the southeast of the state from late Saturday into Sunday.

Catchments are average to moderately wet across the flood watch area.

Rainfall totals of 20 to 30 mm are forecast across the flood watch area on Saturday. Further rainfall totals of 15 to 30 mm are forecast across the north and northeast of the state on Sunday, with isolated higher falls possible in the southeast.

Minor flooding is likely to develop across the flood watch area from Saturday night, with isolated moderate flooding possible.

Macquarie River

East Coastal Rivers (north of Bicheno)

Huon River

Channel Coastal Rivers (South East Cape to Gordon)

Derwent River

Jordan River

Coal River
