Damaging wind gusts to develop over northeastern Tasmania during Sunday.

Weather Situation: A cold front crossing Tasmania on Sunday is forecast to develop a vigorous northwesterly flow ahead of it, leading to damaging wind gusts for northeastern parts of the state during the day.

Northwesterly winds with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS with peak gusts of around 110 km/h are possible over elevated parts of the North East and East Coast districts after sunrise on Sunday. DAMAGING WIND GUSTS reaching around 100 km/h are possible for lower elevations over the remaining warning area from late Sunday morning.

Damaging wind gusts are forecast to ease below warning thresholds from late Sunday afternoon behind the cold front.

Locations which may be affected include Swansea and Bicheno.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
* Manage pets and livestock.
* Secure outdoor items including furniture and play equipment.
* Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to TasNetworks on 132 004.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further advice.
