Damaging wind gusts to develop over northwestern Tasmania on Monday morning.

Weather Situation: As a cold front approaches the state from the west, north to northeasterly winds will increase over northwestern parts of the state during early Monday morning.

Northeasterly winds with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS with peak gusts of around 90 km/h are possible over coastal parts of the West Coast and North West Coast from early Monday morning.

Damaging wind gusts are forecast to ease below warning thresholds from early Monday afternoon.

Locations which may be affected include Strahan and Zeehan.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
* Manage pets and livestock.
* Secure outdoor items including furniture and play equipment.
* Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to TasNetworks on 132 004.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further advice.
