Damaging winds possible over parts of northwest Tasmania during
Sunday morning.
Weather Situation: Strong and gusty northeast to northerly winds
are expected over northwest parts of the State ahead of a front on
Sunday morning.
DAMAGING NORTHEAST TO NORTHERLY WIND GUSTS with peak gusts in
excess of 80 km/h are possible during the early hours of Sunday
morning.
Winds are expected to ease below the warning threshold from around
sunrise on Sunday.
Gusty north to northwesterly winds are expected across remaining
parts of the State through Sunday, but are not expected to exceed
warning thresholds.
Locations which may be affected include Strahan, Queenstown,
Zeehan, Rosebery and Lake St Clair.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
* Manage pets and livestock.
* Secure outdoor items including furniture and play
equipment.
* Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to
TasNetworks on 132 004.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when
driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further
advice.
