Plateau and parts of North East, East Coast, Midlands, North West
Coast and Central North Forecast Districts.

Damaging winds redeveloping over much of the state today.
Weather situation: Damaging northwesterly winds will redevelop
later this morning and early afternoon ahead of a cold front
crossing the state.
For the WEST COAST: DAMAGING NORTHWESTERLY WINDS averaging 65 to
75 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 100 km/h are possible from
late this morning.
For CENTRAL and EASTERN parts: Strong northwesterly winds
averaging 50 to 60 km/h with DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of around 100 km/h
are possible from the early afternoon.
Winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds later this
evening.
Locations which may be affected include Hobart, Strahan, New
Norfolk, Bothwell, Geeveston, Dover, Strathgordon, Zeehan and
Tarraleah.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
* Manage pets and livestock.
* Secure outdoor items including furniture and play
equipment.
* Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to
TasNetworks on 132 004.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when
driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further
advice.
