For people in Furneaux Islands and parts of Western, South East,
North East, North West Coast, Central North, Central Plateau and
Midlands Forecast Districts.

Damaging winds from early Saturday morning, easing by late
Saturday afternoon.
Weather Situation: A fast moving cold front crosses the state
during Saturday morning and early afternoon, bringing gusty west to
southwesterly conditions to the entire island, as well as damaging
winds to parts of the exposed south, southwest, northeast and
Midlands.
DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess
of 100 km/h are forecast in the southwest and northeast (including
the Furneaux Islands) from early Saturday morning, extending to
parts of the Midlands, Western Tiers and exposed southeast Saturday
mid to late morning.
Conditions ease across the southwest, northeast and Furneaux
Islands around lunch time, and the remainder of the warning area by
Saturday late afternoon.
Locations which may be affected include Strahan, Oatlands,
Whitemark, Bridport and Strathgordon.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Supervise children closely.
* Check that family and neighbours are aware of warnings.
* Manage pets and livestock.
* Secure outdoor items including furniture and play
equipment.
* Be prepared in case of power outages and report any outages to
TasNetworks on 132 004.
* Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when
driving.
* Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further
advice.
