This Watch and Act message is being issued for East Natimuk, Grass Flat, Natimuk, Quantong, Vectis, Vectis East, Vectis South.

- The fire in the Natimuk, Quantong and Vectis area is now contained.
- Firefighters, emergency services and Powercor continue to work on the fire, treatment of fire affected trees and repair of powerlines.
- Residents should stay alert for dangerous trees and electrical hazards.
- The Wimmera Highway is open for all traffic through Natimuk.
- All roads east of the Wimmera River in the Quantong and Vectis area are open.
- Some local roads remain closed due to safety concerns. Continue to obey all road signage.
- A recovery centre is open from 10am to 4pm daily at 62 Main Street, Natimuk.

This Watch and Act message replaces the Watch and Act issued at 12:52pm Mondah 12th January 2026.

While the threat is reduced, there is still active fire in the area. The situation can change at any time. You must monitor conditions and be ready to act.

What you should do:

- Monitor changes to the situation, noting there is still active fire in the area. Increased wind speed, change in wind direction, smoke or poor visibility can indicate the situation is changing.
- Watch out for essential services and vehicles working in the area.

Leave if the situation changes or you feel unsafe. Remember to:

- Take your pets, medications, mobile phone and charger.
- Many people have died trying to leave at the last minute during fires.
- Travel to the home of family or friends that are away from the warning area.

Impacts in your area:

- There are still powerlines down and hazardous trees within the fire ground.
- Access to Natimuk township is via the Wimmera Highway only.
- Check the VicTraffic website (traffic.transport.vic.gov.au) or call 13 11 70 for road closures.
