This Watch and Act message is being issued for Chilwell, Corio, Drumcondra, Geelong, Geelong West, Hamlyn Heights, Newtown, Norlane, North Geelong, North Shore, Rippleside, South Geelong.

There is a factory fire in Refinery Road, Corio.

A wind change has caused the smoke to be blown towards the Northern Geelong area.
This Watch and Act replaces the Advice issued at 11:30pm.

Anyone located in to the South of Refinery Road Corio should take shelter indoors immediately.

What you should do:
Close all exterior doors and windows.
Turn off heating and cooling systems.
Close fireplaces and vents.
You should avoid the area.
If you are driving, close the windows in your vehicle and turn off the air conditioning.
Keep the roads clear so emergency services can respond.
Impacts in your area:
The Smoke may be impacting between the following roads: South of Refinery Road to West Fyans Street and Fyans Street, and east of Shannons Avenue to the water front.
Traffic in the area may be affected.
Emergency services may remain in the area.
