Bushfire Watch and Act
MONITOR CONDITIONS - CUTHBERT, ELLEKER and SANDPATCH
A Bushfire Watch and Act is in place for people in an area bounded
by Lower Denmark Road to the north, Mutton Bird Road to the west,
Sand Patch Road to the east and the coast line to the south in
parts of CUTHBERT, ELLEKER and SANDPATCH in the CITY OF
ALBANY
WHAT TO DO
Stay alert and monitor your surroundings as conditions could
change.
You may need to act quickly so ensure you are prepared if the
situation gets worse.
Read through your bushfire plan. If you do not have a plan make
one by visiting My Bushfire Plan.
Have your emergency kit ready.
If you find it hard to move quickly, leaving now is your safest
option.
Keep your doors and windows closed to keep out smoke.
Continue to patrol your property and be ready to put out spot
fires.
If you plan to stay and defend ensure you are mentally and
physically prepared, with protective clothing and an independent
water supply.

Leave in a westerly or easterly direction towards Lower Denmark
Road.

Bushfire behaviour
The bushfire is moving fast in an North easterly direction.
It is not contained or controlled.
Road closures and conditions
Some roads may be closed.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive
carefully. Road information may also be available from Main Roads
WA by visiting the Main Roads Travel Map, calling 138 138 or by
contacting your Local Government Authority.
What firefighters are doing
Firefighters are actively fighting the fire.
Animal Welfare
Owners or carers of livestock, pets and companion animals should
activate their own animal welfare plan. During a bushfire take
advice from Local Government Authorities to protect the lives of
your animals while keeping yourself safe.

The incident was reported at 6:52pm on 29 December 2024.
