MONITOR CONDITIONS - JIMBLEBAR MINE SITE

A Bushfire Watch and Act remains in place for people in the Jimblebar Mine Site, east of NEWMAN in the SHIRE of EAST PILBARA.

There remains a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is burning in the area and conditions are changing.

WHAT TO DO
Stay alert and monitor your surroundings as conditions could change.

You may need to act quickly so ensure you are prepared if the situation gets worse.

Read through your bushfire plan. If you do not have a plan make one by visiting My Bushfire Plan.

Have your emergency kit ready.

Keep your doors and windows closed to keep out smoke.

SAFEST ROUTE
If you plan to leave, do so in a westerly direction on McCamey Road, if safe to do so.

Bushfire behaviour

The fire is currently burning north east of the Jimblebar Mine.

It is not contained or controlled.

Road closures and conditions

Roads have not been closed.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully. Road information may also be available from Main Roads WA by visiting the Main Roads Travel Map, calling 138 138 or by contacting your Local Government Authority.

What firefighters are doing

DFES personnel are working closely with local incident and emergency response teams to control and contain the fire.

Animal Welfare

Owners or carers of livestock, pets and companion animals should activate their own animal welfare plan. During a bushfire take advice from Local Government Authorities to protect the lives of your animals while keeping yourself safe.
