Bushfire Watch and Act
MONITOR CONDITIONS - parts of DUNN ROCK, LAKE KING and EAST NEWDEGATE

A Bushfire Watch and Act is in place for people in an area bounded by Newdegate-Ravensthorpe Road to the north and east, Old Newdegate Road, Millsteed Road, Mallee Road and Taylor Road to the South and Old Ravensthorpe Road to the west in parts of DUNN ROCK, LAKE KING and EAST NEWDEGATE in the SHIRE OF LAKE GRACE.

- There is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is burning in the area and conditions may change.

What to do

- Stay alert and monitor your surroundings as conditions could change.
- You may need to act quickly so ensure you are prepared if the situation gets worse.
- Read through your plan. If you do not have a plan, make one now on Emergency WA or in the Emergency WA app.
- Have your emergency kit ready.
- If you find it hard to move quickly, leaving now is your safest option.
- Keep your doors and windows closed to keep out smoke.
- Continue to patrol your property and be ready to put out spot fires.
- If you plan to stay and defend ensure you are mentally and physically prepared, with protective clothing and an independent water supply.

If safe to do so, people should leave in a northerly direction.

Bushfire behaviour

- The fire is moving in a north westerly direction.
- It is not contained or controlled.
- Currently there has been 37,067 hectares burnt.

What firefighters are doing

- Fire crews and incident control staff from Parks and Wildlife Service, DFES, local bushfire brigades, farmer response units and local government are working across the fire ground and supporting the incident.
- Aerial support is assisting ground crews.
