Extreme fire dangers slowly easing this evening as temperatures cool from their afternoon peak while dry, moderate to fresh easterly winds persist. Fresh and gusty seabreezes pushing across the Midwest Inland and northern Yarra Yarra this afternoon and evening.

On Thursday the focus of fresh northeast to southeasterly winds shifts further south and east, and combined with hot and dry conditions will lead to elevated fire dangers. Winds locally strong and gusty in the morning and a fresh and gusty seabreeze is expected to extend inland across northern parts of the warning area in the afternoon and evening. Further to this is the risk of thunderstorms from early Thursday across the southern half of the warning area.
