Flood Watch Number: 3

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE ACROSS THE FLOOD WATCH AREA FROM SATURDAY OVERNIGHT

A low pressure system has formed within a trough in the west, and the low is heading south to Victoria while the trough is heading eastwards. This development has brought widespread rain, showers, and thunderstorms in many areas with moderate to heavy falls across the eastern two-thirds of the state.

Catchments across parts of the Southwest ranges are relatively wet.

Heavy shower and thunderstorm activity is expected in the eastern half of the state during Saturday afternoon through to Sunday, with locally heavy rainfall likely.

There is some degree of uncertainty over the exact location and timing of the heaviest falls. Catchment specific flood warnings will be issued if and when required.

This weather system has the potential to cause minor flooding in the Flood Watch area from Saturday overnight. Flood Classes (minor, moderate, major) are only defined for catchments where the Bureau provides a flood warning service.
